The 3rd interim technical report of the NOFFi project describes the activities conducted from January to June 2015.
More specifically, during this period the following were conducted:
- Development of fuel type classification model in the pilot area (Chalkidiki regional unit)
- Application of the classification model to other regional units of the country
- Implementation of individual components of the burned area mapping service in C++ programming language, in order to avoid using commercial software for employing the service
- Continuation of literature review for the development of an operational forest fire risk index
- Participation of the working team in seminars of international research projects relevant to NOFFi and the fire risk index
- Multiple discussions with experts from NCSR “Demokritos”
- Project’s WebGIS (under development)
